We have two Flute teachers:

Ms Agnes Harmath-Parkin

Agnes Harmath is a Hungarian-born flute player and teacher. She completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Auckland. During her studies she has won numerous national and international awards, and received many scholarships including the Ministry of Education’s Top Achiever Doctoral Scholarship for 3 consecutive years. She has worked as Artist-Teacher at the University of Auckland and played as a guest artist in Flute Festivals in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Currently, she teaches extensively as an itinerant and private teacher in Auckland schools and freelances as a player with New Zealand orchestras, including Opus Chamber Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra, and as an associate member, the Auckland Philharmonia. Agnes lives in Auckland with her husband and their three children. 



Ms Christine Kim
Christine Kim is a flautist who successfully completed her Advanced Studies with Professor Mirjam Nastasi at Freiburg Musikhochschule in Germany.  She also holds a Bachelor of Music First Class honours and Master of Music First Class Honours under the tutelage of Professor Uwe Grodd at the University of Auckland School of Music.  Christine has won numerous scholarships and awards including the 74th Annual Society of American Musicians Competition in the United States, 1st place in the University of Auckland Graduation Gala Concerto Competition and 2nd place with her flute and piano duo at the Internationale Interpretationswettbewerb Verfemte Musik in Schwerin, Germany.  Throughout her career Christine has been chosen to participate in numerous master classes with artists such as Marya Martin, Leone Buyse, Felix Renglli, Jean Ferrandis, Paul Edmund-Davis, Denis Bouriakov, Robert Aiken and Sir James Galway.  Christine has true passion for teaching and a special love and knowledge of woodwind chamber music.  Currently she teaches flute and conducts ensembles at Baradene College, St Mary's College and Dilworth School.
