"It's a channel for the creation generation. It's not just TV and film,
it's dance, music, theater, drama. It's art.'

- Shane Walker

The arts are powerful forms of expression that recognise, value, and contribute to the unique bicultural and multicultural character of Aotearoa New Zealand, enriching the lives of all New Zealanders. The arts have distinct languages that use both verbal and non-verbal conventions, mediated by specific processes and technologies. Through movement, sound, and image, the arts transform people's creative ideas into expressive works that communicate layered meanings.

Performing Arts offers many opportunities outside the classroom, such as school productions, music groups, dance academy, Shakespeare festival, One Act Play festival, and more.
