New Zealand women won the right to vote on 19 September 1893. 125 years on, the Suffrage 125 celebration on was an opportunity to remember the suffragists and what they fought for and reflect on women’s rights today.

At the Suffrage Sunrise celebrations in Auckland’s Aotea Square on Wednesday 19 September, Year 12 student, Bella Hosking delivered a powerful sppech.  Bella Hosking was the recent winner of the 2018 speech competition held by the National Council of Women of New Zealand.
